Be Still . . .
Devotionals for Daily Living ©
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
(Isaiah 40:31 (NIV))
If you look at the things of this world, it is so easy to grow weary from the things that you see.
If you look at the things of this world, you may come to the conclusion that all hope is lost. You may even faint from the fear of the unknown.
Is the world where you place your hope?
If you do place your hope in the things of this world, you have an option that will never let you down. We can rest in the promises of God!
For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.
(2 Corinthians 1:20 (NIV))
This does not mean that all of our problems will cease!
It does mean that we will have a companion who is with us always.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
(Psalm 23:4 (NIV))
In other words, we will rely on His strength. We will be carried by His grace. We will run and walk relying on His power.
Can you think of anything that could be any better?
Where is your hope placed?
