This man gave up everything in order to possess a physical treasure?

What would you do?

Would you give up your job, your status, your home, and your cars on a chance of gaining something far greater?

Jesus gave us a glimpse based on something that people would understand. He gave them a reference of a physical treasure since that is what humanity is driven by, but we have a treasure far greater than anything that this physical world can offer. We have salvation!

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
(John 3:16-18 (NIV))

What is God's love worth? What is eternal life worth? What is freedom from condemnation worth?

I pray that you agree with me when I say that this is the greatest treasure that anyone could ever find. It is far greater than anything this world has to offer.

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

What is that treasure worth to you?
