Be Still . . .
Devotionals for Daily Living ©
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope.
(Psalm 130:5 (NIV))
It seems that turmoil abounds, yet I have peace.
What about you?
With everything that is happening in this world, are you at peace? Do you have the peace that passes all understanding?
I have learned over the last several years, especially since I started following world events and Bible prophecy, that all I can do is trust in the Lord. I may not know the exact details of how God is unfolding things, and to be honest, nobody does. One thing that I do know is that I have seen the Lord work in all things, so I put my trust in Him alone.
The Psalmist said it best.
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
(Psalm 121:1-2 (NIV))
I lift my eyes!
I lift my heart and my hands. I completely surrender to the Maker of heaven and earth.
If you truly stop to think about it, we put our hope in whom and in what we trust.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
(Psalm 20:7 (NIV))
Where do you put your hope and your trust?
