Be Still . . .
Devotionals for Daily Living ©
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
(Romans 15:13 (NIV))
What do you see when you see the current state of the world?
Perhaps I should ask a different question.
What is your response when you see the current state of the world?
Do you have peace or are you overcome with anxiety?
Do you want peace in the midst of chaos?
Turn to Jesus!
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 4:7 (ESV))
No matter the circumstances, we have hope in Jesus. No matter what the world may say, we have hope in Jesus. Even when things are rapidly accelerating with wars and rumors of wars, our firm foundation is the Rock of our faith. Even when things are converging to a point where it appears that there is no worldly way things will ever recover, turn to Jesus.
Turn to Jesus with a faith that can't be shaken!
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
(Hebrews 11:1 (NIV))
I know that I have said something like this before, but there is a difference between hope and faith. To simplify it, hope is the desire for things to be better while faith is the resounding and unwavering certainty that Jesus is the creator of our hope. Faith is steadfast. Faith is unwavering. Faith is knowing that everything that is happening in the world today will allow us to see Jesus! When the God of hope fills you, allow it to mature. Allow faith to grow.
Have you been filled to overflowing?
