We all know that there are four seasons in a year. Most people also recognize when things are harvested.

If you have had any experience at all with any fresh vegetables or fruit, you know when they are in season. You know when you can get the best strawberries. You know when you can get fresh, juicy peaches.

We pay so much attention to our physical world that we can easily say for certain that certain things are ready for harvest because they are ripe and ready.

What about in the spiritual world?

Don’t you have a saying, 'It's still four months until harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.
(John 4:35 (NIV))

Take a look at the current state of the world through spiritual eyes.

What do you see?

What season are we actually living in?

God has a plan. It is recorded for us from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21. It is unfolding right before our eyes and most people are ignorant of the progression of events as they lead to the fulfillment of scripture. We recognize verses about wars and rumors of wars, but are we fooling ourselves when we don't study God's Word and ignore current events because they are happening half way around the world? Are we blinded to the things that are happening in our own country and potentially in our own cities and towns?

We must be watchmen!

I appointed watchmen over you and said,
     'Listen to the sound of the trumpet!'
     But you said, 'We will not listen.'
