Trust in the Lord forever,
for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.
(Isaiah 26:4 (NIV))
When was the last time that you trusted something or someone?
If you place your trust in things of this physical world, they will fail. If you place your trust in someone, they will, due to their sinful nature, let you down. Neither of these two scenarios even come close to lasting forever.
I honestly believe that it is human nature for everyone to want to fill a void in their lives. I believe it is directly related to the age old question that we all have. "Why am I here?"
We want to place our trust in something or someone that will always be there. We search and search and search, but we fail miserably with finding anything that will permanently fill the void that we all have. Family and friends even fail us.
Thankfully, we don't have to rely on people who are sinful by nature, and the things in this physical world that moth and rust can destroy. We can place our trust in the Creator of all things. We can place our trust in the Lord who loves us enough to die for us.
I don't know about you, but I cling to the words of this passage.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
(Psalm 20:7 (NIV))
Where have you placed your trust?
