The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
(Psalm 145:18 (NIV))
What is your definition of truth?
If you are like me, that question leaves you stammering for an honest answer.
We can all agree that the sky is blue on most days. We can all agree that water is wet. We can all agree that night is dark and that day is light, but I am sure that you can name instances where each of these assumed truths were not actually true. There are always exceptions!
Thankfully, there is one steadfast truth that never falters, that never fails.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
(Hebrews 13:8 (NIV))
Think about that passage in relationship to the following passage.
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
(John 14:6 (NIV))
I don't know about you, but the words from Hebrews and the words from John bring this full circle. Jesus is the absolute truth!
We are to call upon the Lord our God through Jesus!
We should follow Jesus in all that we do. Following Jesus should be our one and only priority. All else will take care of itself.
Is His truth your priority?
