Devotionals for Daily Living ©
As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
(Ephesians 4:1 (NIV))
Do you think of yourself as a prisoner?
Let that question sink in.
Each of us have obligations that we must fulfill. Each of us have priorities that drive our every action. Each of us have treasures that we hide in our hearts that we are allow to control our lives. With this in mind, it is easy to say that each of us are a prisoner to something!
What are you a prisoner of? What do you allow to control your life?
It is said that the sin you know is more comfortable than the fear of the unknown. Too many of us cling to our sins as if we treasure them. Is that you?
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
(Matthew 6:21 (NIV))
We can be a prisoner to sin or we can be a prisoner for the Lord. We can be controlled by our sin or we can commit to following the Lord in His righteousness.
The choice is yours. You don't have to be a prisoner to your sin.
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
(Isaiah 61:1 (NIV))
Take a good look at your life and answer one last question.
How are you living your life?
