"'Look, you scoffers,
     wonder and perish,
for I am going to do something in your days
     that you would never believe,
     even if someone told you.'"
(Acts 13:41 (NIV))

Scoffers still abound even when we have evidence that debunks their scoffing!

These words are referencing Habakkuk 1:5, which is God's response to Habakkuk's complaint in the following passage.

How long, Lord, must I call for help,
     but you do not listen?
Or cry out to you, “Violence!”
     but you do not save?
Why do you make me look at injustice?
     Why do you tolerate wrongdoing?
Destruction and violence are before me;
     there is strife, and conflict abounds.
Therefore the law is paralyzed,
     and justice never prevails.
The wicked hem in the righteous,
     so that justice is perverted.
(Habakkuk 1:2-4 (NIV))

Our situation is not new. You see countless events in Scripture where God's people are facing evil and violence beyond imagination. The difference today is the frequency and intensity of these events. If you don't believe me, consider the following.

Have you been keeping up with the news?

What about world events that don't make the news because they don't fit the desired narrative?

What about the senseless persecution of believers?

What about the wars and rumors of wars?

There is so much going on in this world at this point in history that it is difficult to say that all is well in the world. There are events transpiring that we know nothing about, and there are events that are blown out of proportion in order to mislead us. Isn't that exactly how the father of lies works? He takes something and twists it to the point that it causes people to follow because it sounds true. A good example of this is the recent announcement that they are "100%" certain that they have discovered Noah's ark in Turkey.

The Body of Christ longs to be in His presence. We long for the truth. We long to hold on to His truth so much that we must be careful to test everything so that we are not caught up in a lie.

The scoffers can keep up their antics. As believers, we must stay true to His Word and His promises, for we know that the scoffers are not on the side of truth.

The Lord is moving mightily!
