Be Still . . .
Devotionals for Daily Living ©
When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."
(Luke 21:28 (NIV))
I don't know about you, but lately I have been looking up a lot!
In fact, I am watching and waiting so much, that I find myself getting distracted in the physical world.
With everything that we see transpiring in this sinful, fallen world, I am diligently and faithfully waiting and watching. I am seeing churches and preachers speaking on end times events like I have never seen before. There is a small church about 2 miles from my house that has their current sermon series posted on their sign. It is about Revelation and current events. The church that my wife and I have been attending for the last two years is about to start a series on the same thing. The prophecy experts that I have been watching for years are now being joined by people who have a reputation for being very accurate in their Biblical study and their teaching. These individuals may not have been telling people to watch for the last several years, but they are seeing the signs and are sharing what they see. In fact, these individuals have studied and verified everything before telling people to look up for our redemption is close.
If you have received these devotionals for any length of time, you know that I have been telling people to focus on Jesus because of the things that I have seen happening in this world.
I don't profess to know God's exact timeline, but I do know that things are increasing in frequency and intensity, and they are rapidly converging to a single moment in time.
Are you ready?
It is as easy as ABC.
A is for admit that you are a sinner in need of a savior.
B is for believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and that God raised Him from the dead.
C is for call upon the name of the Lord Jesus.
I love the following passage. It states it so clearly.
Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.
(Isaiah 26:4 (NIV))
It is human nature to look where you find help.
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
(Psalm 121:1-2 (NIV))
Are you faithfully looking up?
