But if any nation does not listen, I will completely uproot and destroy it," declares the Lord.
(Jeremiah 12:17 (NIV))

Have the nations been listening?

I realize that this is a loaded question.

I realize that almost everyone who might read this has professed a faith in Jesus.

I realize that if you pay any attention to the things happening in this world, you are ashamed of what this world has become.

Realization used to be common sense. Now, common sense is not common. What is common is an ever increasing disdain for God's righteousness. Evil is increasing just as Jesus told us it would.

If you treated your spouse, your family and your friends the way that society and the nations treat the Lord, how long would those relationships last? How long would it take for them to do something that would verge on anger and revenge?

We never learn!

We have marriage counselors, therapists, and relationship counselors, but why do we, as a society, reject the ultimate counselor? Why do we not listen to God's Word and His instructions? Why do we continue to rebel against His Word and His righteousness until it gets to the point where our nations are in complete rebellion? Why do we do all of this and then wonder why there are wars and rumors of wars?

Jesus told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.
"The owner's servants came to him and said, 'Sir, didn't you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?'
"'An enemy did this,' he replied.
"The servants asked him, 'Do you want us to go and pull them up?'
"'No,' he answered, 'because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.'"
(Matthew 13:24-30 (NIV))

Individuals may be listening, but the leaders of the nations are rebelling.

We know that God has a planned time for uprooting and destroying the weeds.
