The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
(Proverbs 1:7 (NIV))
Knowledge is a great thing to have, but in today's society, the knowledge and wisdom that Solomon spoke about has been replaced.
Society no longer looks to the Lord for knowledge, wisdom and discipline.
The world looks to itself. This doesn't work out well for anyone.
If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.
(Matthew 15:14b (NIV))
It is said that Solomon was the wisest man to have ever lived. Even nonbelievers acknowledge the wisdom of Solomon. Yet, today, the knowledge that many people focus on is based not on knowing God, but on saying that there is no God.
I thing that the generations since Charles Darwin have been too focused on trying to prove that they do not have to answer to anyone for what they do in this life.
It is true that people gravitate to others who share common beliefs. Maybe this is done out of the need to be accepted or justified, yet, it seems to me that the one whom they need acceptance and justification from is the one from whom they are running.
It is said that ignorance of the law is no excuse. Those who are ignorant of God's Laws will still face the punishments that will come from the Throne Judgment.
We may not agree with those who base their knowledge on things other than God, yet, we must pray for them so that their eyes will be opened to the truth.
If we saw a child doing something that we know is dangerous, we would stop them and set them straight. We must attempt to do the same for God's children who do not accept the knowledge of God.
We must stand firm.
We must share the truth of the Gospel.
Are you sharing God's knowledge, wisdom and discipline?
