Be Still . . .

So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.
(Romans 14:12 (NIV))

Everyone knows the verse that comes before this.

It is written:
"'As surely as I live,' says the Lord,
'every knee will bow before me;
     every tongue will acknowledge God.'"
(Romans 14:11 (NIV))

Your favorite translation may say that every tongue will confess, but no matter how it is worded, the meaning of these two passages is the same. There is not a single person who has ever lived who will not stand before God and acknowledge His power and might. Every person who has ever lived will fall into one of two categories.

1. A sinner in need of a Savior.
2. A sinner redeemed by grace through the atoning blood of the Savior.

Which category do you fall under?

Your answer to that question will determine your answer when you stand before God and He asks you for an account of your life. If you are in group #1, then your answer will be an answer that leads to eternal separation from God. If you are in group #2, your answer simply needs to be that you have placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. This answer will lead to an eternity with God.

What will your answer be?

Does this scare you?
